University of Valley Forge is Hiring a Director of Human Resources Near Phoenixville, PA

Role:

Under the direction of the Vice President of Finance, the Director of Human Resources manages the day-to-day functions of the HR Department including policies, procedures, benefits, compensation and employment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Publish requirements, facilitate interview process, and communicate results in recruiting of new employees.
  • Orient new employees and enroll them in benefits programs.
  • Maintain employee personnel and other confidential files, updating personnel records, processing new hires, terminations and wage increases, etc.
  • Evaluate benefit policies and negotiate with health care providers to get the best possible coverage at the most reasonable cost.
  • Conduct the annual open enrollment process within the directed periods.
  • Administer annual employee evaluations.
  • Administer University retirement plans.
  • Communicate Cafeteria Plan enrollment annually, ensure payments and monitor usage.
  • Reconcile monthly charges for benefits and process for payment.
  • Interview terminated employees regarding rights under COBRA laws.
  • Counsel Management on up-to-date HR Procedures to be sure University is in compliance with applicable employee-related federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate distribution and collection of University keys.
  • Investigate accidents, coordinate information with insurance company and prepare reports.
  • Maintain and update policy manual for staff and students.
  • Maintain and update job descriptions.
  • Maintain and update wage scale (when implemented).

Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge of employee benefits, and personnel services, payroll, compensation and DOL compliance rules and regulations. Must be able to multi-task.

Qualifications:

Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail. Able to prioritize tasks effectively and to deal with confidential and sensitive matters.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
